Amrut Portonova Indian Single Malt Whisky
Portonova from Amrut was matured in ex- bourbon casks before being transferred in port pipes, especially imported from Portugal, then again transferred in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at cask strength.
   Nose:   A thick pudding of a nose; fruit and caramel have merged into one slightly over-oaked soup; burnt apple pie.
   Taste:   Spicy, jammy fruit interwoven through caramel and oaky saltiness.
   Finish:   Long, massive oak with quite evident traces of the virgin barrels, cocoa hue, some muscovado sugars and berries.
