Laphroaig 25 Year Old Cask Strength 2019 Release
This is the 2019 release of the 25 Year Old from Laphroaig.
This Single Malt has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks for a quarter of a century, before being bottled at cask strength in 2019.
Nose:   Iodine. Green apple juice, mildly toasted malt. Peat is mostly tamed, and no longer aggressive like its younger siblings. Smouldering applewood. Fresh Eastern spices poking at the back. A whiff of citrusy slowly intensified and ultimately took over the peat.
Taste:   Peat is more pronounced here, making a return to the root of Laphroaig. Bourbon oak-led that’s slightly bitter, in a good way. Powerful spices with cardamom, aniseeds and fennel seeds.
Finish:   Long, typical Laphroaig finish. Ashtray with lingering peat. Oak spices, a touch of fruits and honey.
